Aldir Blanc nascimento 02/08/1946

The Rio de Janeiro native started to write music in his teens, when he also learned how to play the drums. As a drummer, he was a member of Teatro Azul and Rio Bossa Trio. Blanc went to medical school and specialized in psychiatry. He was involved with college movements, along with buddies Ivan Lins and Gonzaguinha in the 70s. Aldir met João Bosco, one of his most important partners, with whom he shared his first hit songs. Their most acclaimed interpreter was Elis Regina, who recorded "Bala com Bala" in 1971. She also registered "Mestre-Sala dos Mares", "O Bêbado e a Equilibrista", "Kid Cavaquinho", "De Frente Pro Crime", "Dois Pra Lá, Dois Pra Cá" and "Rancho da Goiabada". Blanc and Bosco ended their partnership in 1983. He has had other partners, like Moacir Luz and Guinga. In 1996, Leila Pinheiro made the album "Catavento e Girassol" exclusively with songs by Aldir Blanc/Guinga. Aldir also writes chronicles to newspapers and magazines.
