Aurora Miranda
20/04/1915
Aurora made her debut on the radio in 1932. Her first album, "Cai, Cai, Balão" (Assis Valente), came out the next year. She recorded successful carnival themes, and soon began performing as a duo with sister Carmen Miranda. Her greatest hit was "Cidade Maravilhosa", the official anthem of Rio de Janeiro. Aurora kept singing and performing during the 1930s, but she got married in 1940 and moved to the United States. After that, she only did occasional recordings.
