Barão Vermelho
The rock band was formed in Rio de Janeiro, in 1981. Vocalist Cazuza joins them the following year and they go on to make their first LP, "Barão Vermelho", touring São Paulo and Rio. After the release of their second album, "2", which included the hit "Pro Dia Nascer Feliz", they enjoy national success in 1984, with the title song for the movie "Bete Balanço", included in their third LP "Maior Abandonado". In January 1985, they play the Rock in Rio (mega) festival; in June, Cazuza leaves the group to pursue a solo career, and an extra guitarist and percussionist are added. Lead guitarist Frejat undertakes the lead vocals and they join Warner Music’s cast. In 1990, the band plays the Hollywood Rock festival, and in the same year, bassist Dé leaves the band, being replaced by former Novos Baianos and A Cor Do Som bassist, Dadi. The next year, they are awarded best rock band at the Sharp Awards. Other Barão Vermelho hits are: "Declare Guerra", "Por Que A Gente É Assim", "Quem Me Olha Só", "Pense e Dance", "Torre de Babel", "O Poeta Está Vivo", "Supermercados da Vida", "Malandragem Dá um Tempo" and "Puro Êxtase".
