Cassiano
16/09/1943
Born in Paraíba (Northeast Brazil), Cassiano moved with his family to Rio de Janeiro, where he studied music with his father. In the 60s, he played with Bossa Trio, who changed their name to Os Diagonais, recording singles and one LP. Tim Maia recorded his compositions in the 70s, when Cassiano was highly influenced by American soul music and Brazilian samba songs. By that time, Tim Maia landed on to the top of the charts with "Primavera", Cassiano’s greatest hit as a composer. He made solo albums as a singer, finding success with "A Lua e Eu". In 1991, he appeared in samba composer Noel Rosa’s songbook, along with other artists.
