De Falla

The gaucho rock band from Porto Alegre (capital of Rio Grande do Sul) was lined-up in 1984 and named after Spanish composer Manuel De Falla (1876-1946). They started performing the alternative circuit in Porto Alegre, influenced by the punk music, hard rock and heavy metal. Defalla released five albums until 1993, when they played the Hollywood Rock festival, after which vocalist Edu K left the group to put out a solo disc. Some of their hits were "Não Me Mande Flores", "Repelente", "Sossego" (Tim Maia) and "Como Vovó Já Dizia" (Raul Seixas). In 1997, Edu K made a comeback with Defalla, playing around Rio de Janeiro. The current line-up is: Edu K, Marcelo Fornazier, Z, Chili Willi and Marcelo Birck.
