Herbert Vianna

Vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and leader of the band Paralamas do Sucesso, Herbert was born in Paraíba (northeast Brazil), moving with his family to Brasília (DC) as a child. His solo career took off after Paralamas had established its name in the business. In 1992, Herbert released "Ê Batumarê", a homemade production. "Santorini Blues", recorded in Los Angeles, was released in 1997, being basically an unplugged album. "O Som do Sim", released in 2000, had a more careful production and features illustrious guests, such as Cássia Eller, Nana Caymmi, Sandra de Sá and Marcos Valle. As a rrecord producer, Herbert worked on three albums made by the punk band Plebe Rude: "O Concreto Já Rachou" (1986), "Nunca Fomos Tão Brasileiros" (1987) and "Enquanto a Trégua Não Vem (Ao Vivo)" (2000). He is also the writer of many hits recorded by other singers, such as "Caleidoscópio" (recorded by Dulce Quental), "Nada Por Mim" (recorded by Marina Lima) and "Se eu Não Te Amasse Tanto Assim" (written with Paulo Sérgio Valle and successfully recorded by Ivete Sangalo).
