Inezita Barroso

Born in São Paulo, she studied classical singing, piano and guitar in her childhood, but debuted professionally only in 1950, on the radio. She also worked in the movies and was an awarded interpreter in the '50s. "Moda da Pinga" and "Lampião de Gás" were her first hits. She was a cult muse of the city. Later on, she dedicated to studying and recovering Brazilian folklore music, both as an artist and a teacher. She has hosted a TV show on Brazilian country music for 20 years. With over 80 albums recorded, among 78 rpms, LPs and CDs. Inezita has also produced documentary films. She released two CDs in 2001, "Perfil de São Paulo", and "A Música Brasileira por Seus Autores e Intérpretes", both featuring live recordings only.
