Isaura Garcia
26/02/1919
30/07/1993
She was born in an Italian neighborhood in São Paulo, and trained her voice while bottling wine at the family's store. At age 13, she tried her luck on the radio but was eliminated. A year later, Isaura gave it another shot, performing the standard "Camisa Listrada". She was hired by the radio station, performing in important concerts and nightclubs. She released the hits "Mensagem" (Aldo Cabral/ Cícero Nunes) and "De Conversa em Conversa" (Lúcio Alves/ Haroldo Barbosa). She was dubbed Radio Queen of São Paulo in 1953. Four years later, she recorded the album "Personalíssima". Isaura was married to pianist Walter Wanderley. She made a lot of albums dedicated to specific songwriters: "Martinho da Vila e Dolores Duran na Voz de Isaura Garcia", "Ary Barroso e Billy Blanco na Voz de Isaura Garcia", "Chico Buarque e Noel Rosa na Voz de Isaura Garcia". In 1987, the label Eldorado released "Isaura Garcia - Documento Inédito", featuring Dorival Caymmi and Roberto & Erasmo Carlos songs.
