Jorge Aragão
Samba artist who started out in the 1970s, playing at balls and nightclubs. As a songwriter, he debuted in 1977, when Elza Soares recorded his song "Malandro". He was a member of the pagode group Fundo de Quintal. About all of the main samba interpreters have recorded his music (Beth Carvalho, Alcione, Zeca Pagodinho, Martinho da Vila). The debut solo album, "Jorge Aragão", was released on Ariola in 1982. He has put out 12 albums, so far. "Coisinha do Pai" (with Almir Guineto and Luiz Carlos), "Coisa de Pele", "Vou Festejar", "Alvará"; "Terceira Pessoa", "Amigos... Amantes", "Do Fundo do Nosso Quintal" and "Enredo do Meu Samba" are some of his hits.
