Karnak

The band was formed in 1992 by multi-instrumentalist André Abujamra, who had been visiting Egypt. Relying on theatrical performances with a comedy approach, Karnak makes pop music mixed with a wide range of influences. Their first album, "Karnak", was released in 1995. Two years later, they put out two CDs: "Universo Umbigo" and "Original", the latter having been assembled exclusively for the international market, with remixed tracks taken from their previous discs. In 2000, they have released "Estamos Adorando Tokio" (or, We’re in Love with Tokyo) on NetRecords, placing their bets on sales through the internet and on newsstands.
