Precocious rocker, he started playing guitar at age 12 with the Cave Men (Beatles cover band). along the 70s, he played guitar with the groups Albatroz, Veludo Elétrico and Vímana. After a while, he started his solo career, releasing the single "Tesouros da Juventude" in 1981. The debut album, "Tempos Modernos", came out in 1982, and the title track was tuned into a hit. The albums "O Ritmo do Momento" (1983), "Tudo Azul" (1984), "Normal" (1985), "Lulu" (1986) "Toda Forma de Amor" (1988), "Popsambalanço e Outras Levadas" (1989), "Honolulu" (1990), "Mondo Cane" (1992), "Assim Caminha a Humanidade", "Eu e Memê, Memê e Eu", "Anticiclone Tropical" (1996), "Liga Lá" (1997) and "Calendário" (1999) followed.
