Nação Zumbi
Group from Pernambuco that got a lot of attention in the music scene because of the Manguebeat movement in the '90s, accompanying singer and songwriter Chico Science. With him, Nação Zumbi recorded two albums, "Da Lama ao Caos" (1994) and "Afrociberdelia" (1996), which made them well-known in Brazil and abroad. "Rios, Pontes e Overdrives", "A Cidade", "Da Lama ao Caos", "Macô", "Corpo de Lama" and their version of "Maracatu Atômico", (Jorge Mautner and Nelson Jacobina) became hits. After Science died in a road accident in 1997, the Nação Zumbi members kept the band going, releasing in 1998 the double-CD "CSZN", still linked to the late leader's name. The album featured one live disc and one remix disc. In 2000, the group recorded "Rádio S.AMB.A" (YBrazil?), proving that they could have a life without Science. Jorge Du Peixe became the vocalist, accompanied by the rest of the members: Lúcio Maia (guitar), Alexandre Djengue (bass), Toca Ogam (percussion), Gilmar Bolla 8 (percussin) and Pupilo (drums).
