Sergio Sampaio nascimento 13/04/1947 falescimento 15/05/1994

He was a radio newscaster in his native Cachoeiro do Itapemirim (Espírito Santo). In the 60s, he moved to Rio de Janeiro. Sampaio debuted as a singer in 1970, recording the album "Sociedade da Grã-Ordem Kavernista Apresenta: Sessão das Dez" with Raul Seixas, Miriam Batucada and Eddy Star. In 1972, he put out an album with the song "Eu Quero é Botar meu Bloco na Rua". The track was turned into a remarkable hit and he sold more albums than he would ever do after that. In 1976, he recorded the LP "Tem Que Acontecer" on Continental and in 1978, he released "Sinceramente". In 1998, songwriter Sérgio Natureza produced the posthumous tribute-album "Balaio do Sampaio".
