Skank

Largely influenced by reggae, ska and dub, the band was founded in 1991, in Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais, SE), soon becoming one of the most famous bands in Brazil. Featuring a distinctive dancing edge, they have enjoyed success on the rado and on dance-floors. Skank’s first album, named after the band, was recorded and distributed by the independent label Chaos. With their second album, "Calango", the band’s career took off for good. Their greatest hits include a "boom-shak-a-laka" version of Roberto Carlo’s 1960’s hit "É Proibido Fumar".

Other hits include "Garota Nacional", "Pacato Cidadão" and "Tão Seu".
