Soulfly

Max Cavalera left Sepultura and lined up Soulfly in 1997, keeping his trademark aggressive posture since the first release, Soulfly, from 1998. That first album featured Nação Zumbi’s guitarist Lucio Maia (dubbed Jackson Bandeira) and followed the trail of Sepultura’s 1995 album, Roots (the last one with Max): a mix of heavy metal and Brazilian beats. The second album, Primitive (2000), is similar to the first, and generated a worldwide tour like the ones that Sepultura used to do. The surprises in Primitive are Sean Lennon’s participation in the track Son Song and Max’s debut as a rapper in In Memory Of... The current line up is Max Cavalera (guitars, vocals), Marcelo D.Rapp (bass) and Mickey Doling (guitar).
