Walter Wanderley

Pianist and organist born in Pernambuco (NE), Walter headed to São Paulo by the late 50s, working in nightclubs. In 1960, he lined up the group Walter Wanderley e Seu Conjunto, who accompanied João Gilberto, Dóris Monteiro and others. Wanderley was married to singer Isaura Garcia. He released solo albums, playing bossa nova, and settled in the United States, where he lived until passing away. There, he performed along with Brazilian artists like Eumir Deodato and Haroldo do Monte. His greatest hit was the recording of "Samba de Verão", Marcos Valle and Paulo Sérgio Valle.
