A MÚSICA BRASILEIRA DESTE SÉCULO POR SEUS AUTORES E INTÉRPRETES - ADEMILDE FONSECA

Cotação:
Ademilde Fonseca has just turned 80 years old. Four years ago, she participated in the TV special Ensaio, now being released on CD. Although her voice was already slightly worn off, she recorded an interview and hit songs with her usual high-pitched timbre and the clear speech that made her famous. The irresistible pioneer of the sung choro launched emblematic songs such as Brasileirinho, Tico-Tico no Fubá and Delicado. Here, she also does choros that she’d never done before, such as Odeon, or more obscure ones, like Dono de Ninguém (Carioca), as well as beautiful choros that received lyrics later in time: Cinema Mudo (Waldir Azevedo) and Remeleixo (Jacob do Bandolim).
The sambas Batucada em Mangueira, Camisa Listada and Tenha Pena de Mim are also featured on this disc. The album closes with Títulos de Nobreza (Ademilde no Choro) offered to her by João Bosco and Aldir Blanc in 1975. There are occasional audio problems, but the diva's delightful repertoire makes up for the flaws.
