ARTHUR MAIA & HIRAM BULLOCK - BLACK FUSION BAND AO VIVO

Recorded live in 1998, the album features local bassist Arthur Maia and imported bassist Hiram Bullock, born in Japan and raised in the USA. Accompanied by William Magalhães (keyboards), Sandro Guimarães (sax), Adriano Trindade (drums), Trick (trumpet) and Wanderley Silva (percussion), the two bassists concoct their mix of soul, samba and hip hop. The disc opens with the soul ballad Alívio (A.Maia/Djavan). I Sing The Blues (Savoy Brown) features gutural vocals. Grooveland (Paulo Braga), Teen Town (Jaco Pastorious) and Condição (Lulu Santos) are also worth checking out.
