Cotação:
Dançando Nas Nuvens reaffirms Mauro Senise as one of the main names in instrumental music in Brazil. Switching from the flute to the sax, Mauro sure knows what he is doing. He also seems to be a fine "maestro", conducting an equally powerful band (Fernando Moraes, keyboards; Paulo Russo, bass; Ivan Conti, drums). Re-creating his own music or somebody else’s, the quartet not only delivers an impeccable performance, but also manages to fill it with emotion and versatility.
It is a strictly jazz record, without fusion breaks or mixed-in genres. Still, Dançando Nas Nuvens displays a remarkable array of atmospheres, having been recorded "live" in the studio. Key tracks: Primavera, Com a Boca no Trombone, Balada Para Mauro, Aquelas Notas, Waltz For Phil (Victor Assis Brasil) and Ingênuo (Pixinguinha).
