DIANA PEQUENO - 2 LPS EM 1CD
Diana Pequeno (2001)
Crítica
Cotação:
Diana Pequeno was born in Bahia but settled in São Paulo, having become known by the late 70s for some of her delicate folk tunes and a version of Bob Dylan's Blowin' in the Wind. This 2-disc CD features her debut album, from 1978, and the last one, O Mistério das Estrelas, from 1985 (wrongly indicated as being from 1984 in the booklet), both on BMG. The albums are completely different from one another. The first one is good for lovers of Uakti's instrumental trips. Canção de Fogo (Candido de Jesus Sila), Assim Preto, Brasa Branca (Jorge Alfredo and Antonio Risério) and Los Caminos (Pablo Milanez) are nice tracks.
The second disc, though, is the label's attempt to turn Diana into a pop, eclectic singer, with the songs covered up in sax and keyboard arrangements typical of the 1980s. It doesn't work, although she seems more self-assured as an interpreter. Best tracks: Coleção (Cassiano and Paulo Zdanowski), Canção de Acordar (Flávio Venturini/ V.H.santos) and Um Girassol da Cor do Seu Cabelo (Lô and Márcio Borges).
