Rushing out not to miss the jolly São João (Saint John) festivities train (very popular in the northeast, that happens throughout the month of June), Dominguinhos releases his 33rd disc, Lembrando de Você. The major master of the accordion slows down the rhythm of the ball, but keeps up the beat of northeastern music. If there are no innovations (or much creativity) on the album, what really matters here is the genuine forró feel, distant both from the forced sympathy of the "college forró" and from pasteurized keyboards of Mastruz Com Leite and the likes.
The best of Dominguinhos is his rough northeastern appeal, which comes about on tracks like Peba na Pimenta, O Vendedor de Caranguejo and the instrumental Oswaldiana. Other key tracks: Carinho Gostoso, Caminhos do Mar, Desenho (with his daughter, singer Liv Moraes), Meu Amor Quem Dera and Quem Me Levará Sou Eu.
