DUOFEL 20

Fernando Melo plays the 12-string and the 5-string guitars and Luiz Bueno plays the 5-string guitar. Both are self-taught musicians and have been working as a duo for two decades, but their first album only came out in 1987 (Duofel Disco Mix). Their 1996 CD, Kids of Brazil, was arranged by Hermeto Pascoal. This 20 is a live recording from a 1999 concert played in São Paulo. The song É pra Jards is dedicated to Jards Macalé. Gismontada, Lamento Noturno, Azul da Cor da Manteiga and Surfando no Trem are some of the most interesting cuts. Azul... and Surfando... feature the supreme being of sound, Hermeto Pascoal, who turns the tracks into genuine gems.(Tárik de Souza)
