The unplugged album released by Capital Inicial has brought up at least one good lesson: a makeover can make some of the Brazilian rock bands from the 1980s try a second breath in the new millennium, whose music, so far, hasn’t presented very exciting news. If Zero, which happened to enjoy some respect (thanks to its two releases: the mini LP Passos no Escuro, from 1985, and the LP Carne Humana, from ’87), had chosen to follow Capital’s steps, something interesting might have come out of it. Elegant and sophisticated, Electro Acústico celebrates Zero’s reunion in style, with fine guest performances and elaborate arrangements for the acoustic guitars, keyboards, woodwind/brass and string sections.

Gathering most of the original members – vocalist Guilherme Isnard, guitarist Eduardo Amarante and bassist Ricky Villas-Boas and keyboardist Freddy Haiat as guests -, the band reviews its own hits. The greatest of all, Agora Eu Sei, recorded on Passos no Escuro, is now back with a half-unplugged version. Other hits from the mini LP also appear here: Formosa, Os Olhos Falam, Cada Fio um Sonho and the title track. All of the tracks display Zero’s love of Brit ‘80s rock. Quimeras and Carne Humana are other hits on the disc. Mentiras, Me Solta!, Em Volta do Sol and Dedicatória are ready for the radio waves.
