FALANDO DE AMOR PRA VINÍCIUS
Quarteto em Cy / Vinicius de Moraes (2001)

Cotação:
The show Falando de Amor pra Vinicius was recorded on a cassette tape by Cynara on December 18th, 1981, at the Paiol Theater in Curitiba (capital of Paraná). Made into a CD 20 years later by the label CID, the show brings back all-girl vocal group Quarteto em Cy accompanied solely by Luis Cláudio Ramos’ acoustic guitar. It is also the first Quarteto official release with voice & guitar only. In it, the group sounds fresh and in perfect tuning. Regardless of the title, composers other than poet Vinicius de Moraes appear in the set list, such as Tom Jobim (Falando de Amor and Ah! Quem Me Dera), Dorival Caymmi (Milagre), Antonio Maria & Fernando Lobo (Preconceito) and Dori Caymmi & Paulo César Pinheiro (the beautiful and slightly obscure Desenredo).
The most irresistible track on the album, with a beautiful vocal arrangement to fit the attractive melody is Céu Cor-de-Rosa (a version by Haroldo Lobo of Indian Summer, a song written in 1919 by Victor Herbert with lyrics by Al Dubin in 1940). Among the nine Vinicius songs picked for the show, Anoiteceu (written with Francis Hime) and Marcha da Quarta-Feira de Cinzas (written with Carlos Lyra) are the highlights.
