GAROTAS BOAS VÃO PRO CÉU, GAROTAS MÁS VÃO PRA QUALQUER LUGAR
Rebeca Matta (2000)
Crítica
Cotação:
In her new disc, Rebeca Matta goes forward in relation to the first one, Tantas Coisas, which buzzed the critics in 1998 for its unexpected and gutsy musical recipe: bel canto, electronica and rock. The hand of producer andré t and the support provided by a tight band (bassist Renato Nunes, drummer Guimo Migoya and guitarist Pêu Souza) have given Rebeca's music a heavier approach, at the same time making it more dance-driven - specially in the final track, A Novidade. This is mostly a rock album (the first one was a bit more "Brazilian"), with long tracks, electronic noise and guitars tearing off the stereo in tracks like É Que a Vida É, Garotas Boas Vão Pro Céu..., Seja Lá o Que For, Mal Necessário, O Olho Nu and Um Beijo no Pescoço. The Brazilian touch appears on Xique-Xique (Parabelo) (by Tom Zé and José Miguel Wisnik), Pra Que Sofrer and Na Cadência do Samba. Everything in Garotas Boas Vão Pro Céu... (or Good Girls Go To Heaven , Bad Girls Go Everywhere) is well done, and Rebeca is ready to go up the charts.
