Cotação:
Pianist, songwriter and arranger, Gilson Peranzzetta started his own label, Marari Discos, last year, releasing the album Rua Marari. Now he takes the opportunity and puts out two albums, Metamorfose
and Canção da Lua, both exploring the chamber treatment applied to popular music (the CDs can be ordered at mararidiscos@domain.com.br). The first one, featuring Peranzzetta alone with his piano, combines classical pieces (Bach, Skriabin, Beethoven) with Zequinha de Abreu and Sebastião Tapajós. On Canção da Lua, Gilson performs with English cellist David Chew, settled in Brazil for 20 years. The repertoire visits songs written by Peranzzetta between 1970 and 1999. There are also choros (Cheio de Graça and Canto do Lobo), tunes (Serenata de São Lázaro) and even a beautiful tango (Dois na Rede). The match between cello and piano is remarkable. Other key-tracks: Canção da Lua, Mozim, Camafeu, Uma Parte de Nós, Metamorfose
(Nana Vaz de Castro)
