CINE BARONESA
Guinga (2001)
Crítica
Cotação:
Guinga is one of the greatest new acts in Brazilian music to emerge in the 1990s. Cine Baronesa is the follow-up to Suíte Leopoldina, his masterpiece 1999 album. Most of the compositions are instrumental, here. The delicate Melodia Branca, which opens the album with a beautiful strings arrangement written by pianist Gilson Peranzzetta, returns after 11 tracks, with only the author and his guitar. Vô Alfredo and Geraldo no Leme sound sophisticated. Two new songs written with Aldir Blanc testify to the perfect chemistry between the two of them. Yes, Zé Manés features Chico Buarque on the vocals. Guinga sings the samba-choro Orossamba. No Fundo do Rio is a precious meeting between Guinga and Nei Lopes, who shares the mic with Guinga. Guinga's albums have the same effect as his unpredictable melodies. As soon as one finishes listening, the inevitale curiosity comes up: what is the "doctor" going to do next?
