DOIS DE OURO - HAMILTON DE HOLANDA E FERNANDO CÉSAR
Hamilton de Holanda (2000)
Crítica
Cotação:
The prodigy brothers of the new chorinho generation from Brasília (DC), Hamilton de Holanda (mandolin) and Fernando César (7-string guitar), also known as Dois de Ouro, are releasing their third CD. With guests that play the percussion, bass guitar and keyboards, the album is slightly jazzy, sometimes tending towards the so-called "instrumental MPB" - it works in some of the tracks, not in all of them. Things start to get hot by the fourth track, O Que É O Que É (Gonzaguinha). Canta Brasil (D. Nasser/ A.P. Vermelho) and a Caetano Veloso medley (Chuva, Suor e Cerveja, Atrás do Trio Elétrico e A Filha da Chiquita Bacana) came out quite nicely in instrumental versions, as well as Jacob do Bandolin's O Vôo da Mosca. Nonetheless, the album does not go deeper either into innovation or tradition.
