INTERCONTINENTAL! QUEM DIRIA! ERA SÓ O QUE FALTAVA!!!
Itamar Assumpção (1988)
Crítica
Cotação:
Originally released in May, 1998, Itamar Assumpção's fourth album is finally coming out on CD. Intercontinental! was the first - and only - album by the São Paulo-native singer and songwriter to be released on a major label (Continental). But that move did not prevent the eternal indie from maintaining the very sophisticated aesthetics built along his previous albums. Among the 18 tracks, two songs became well-known when they were later recorded by singers Ná Ozetti (Sutil) and Zizi POssi (Filho de Santa Maria, written by Paulo Leminski). Reggae, funk and rock appear in his compositions, such as Adeus Pantanal, Oferenda, Parece Que Foi Ontem and Ouça-Me (lyrics by Alice Ruiz), but there's also space for samba (Maremoto) and for creative meetings with poet Waly Salomão (Zé Pilintra) and avant-garde composer Arrigo Barnabé (Perdido nas Estrelas). In the booklet, Itamar wrote: "This might not be a dance music disc, but it doesn't mean that the heart won't beat fast or that the feet will stand still". Well done.
