OLHA QUE COISA MAIS LINDA - HOMENAGEM A TOM JOBIM

The tribute to Tom Jobim recorded last November in Rio de Janeiro with 15 artists is now coming out on CD. The result of the eclectic casting turns out irregular, for some of the interpreters have very little in common with Jobim's repertoire (but nonetheless accepted to participate in it) and found themselves stuck to a dilemma: to imprint their personal touch or to revere the master of Brazilian music - only a few escaped. More experienced artists took advantage of it, such as Ivan Lins on O Amor em Paz, João Bosco on Águas de Março and Qaurteto em Cy, who added a rare prelude to Desafinado.

Expert bossa interpreter Leila Pinheiro also did well on Sem Você, as well as Ed Motta, who inserted soul music into Por Toda Minha Vida. The mega standards Corcovado (Daniela Mercury), Wave (Lenine), Garota de Ipanema (Simone) and Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar (Paulinho Moska) are on the borderline and can be described as correct - at best. Zé Renato gives a nice approach to Triste and the bonus track features Chico Buarque doing Estrada Branca. The serious drawback is provided by pop stars Paula Toller (Por Causa de Você) and Paulo Ricardo (Insensatez).
