Ednardo had been in oblivion for a long time. Both as a songwriter and as a musician, his influence is noticed today in the music of artists like Zeca Baleiro (MPB) and Wander Wildner (tacky-punk). This is his first album in ten years, and it rescues some of Ednardo's adventures in the 70s, his attempt to develop a type of Brazilian-style folk. He succeeds, somehow, in songs like Pedra da Lua, Universo em Mim and Sinal dos Tempos. Unfortunately, the production is determined by FM, radio-friendly patterns, though a wide range of ideas pop up in the album. He took chances when he picked Chico Buarque's gem, Futuros Amantes; the result is fine. Única Pessoa is not about proposing new guidelines for MPB, but is bound to satisfy Ednardo's fans.
