Max de Castro
17/11/1972
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Max moved to São Paulo as a child, getting interested in music as encouraged by his father, Wilson Simonal. Influenced by Djavan, Jorge Ben Jor and Cassiano, he got the band Confraria together in 1992, along with Pedro Mariano and Daniel Carlomagno. Early in 2000, Max released his debut solo album, the critically acclaimed "Samba Raro" (Trama). The album was written, arranged and produced by Max, presenting a contemporary mix of electronic music with Brazilian beats, seducing the coolest DJs in the country, such as Patife, whose remix of Pra Você Lembrar has been hyped in London. Still in 2000, he appeared in the album "Projeto Artistas Reunidos", along with his brother, Wilson Simoninha, Jairzinho Oliveira, Luciana Mello, Pedro Mariano and Daniel Carlomagno. In 2001, he produced and arranged four tracks for the debut album from São Paulo hip-hoppers Camorra.
